Tyre Safe

The evenings are darker and the weather is turning steadily worse – it’s October, and it’s time to make sure your vehicle is ready for winter. Tyre Safety Month is an initiative by TyreSafe to encourage motorists to make sure their tyres are in good health. Ask yourself – when did you last check your tyres?

More than a quarter of drivers wait until the tread depth on their tyres is illegal before getting them replaced, according to a survey carried out by Tyre Safe and Highways England. The legal limit is a depth of 1.6mm, around the whole circumference of the tyre and three quarters of the width.

Not only do illegal tyres make your vehicle unsafe, but getting close to the legal limit for tread and condition adversely affects fuel efficiency. If you are caught driving on illegal tyres, you face a fine and three points on your licence.

Johnsons are joining TyreSafe to make sure all of our customers are driving on safe, legal tyres. This October, you can have a completely free tyre health check at your nearest Johnsons dealership. This makes sure that the air pressure, overall condition and tread depth of your tyres is up to scratch.

To claim your free tyre health check, please contact your nearest Johnsons dealership. You can make an online enquiry using the contact form and we will respond as soon as we can.
