The world’s best-selling sports car has been turning heads for 25 years, and to mark the milestone Mazda has designed a 25th Anniversary Limited Edition and launched it at the iconic Goodwood Festival of Speed.
At the West Sussex event last month, attendees were the first to lay eyes on the Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupé 2.0i – the official 25th Anniversary edition. To stand out from the rest, it has been splashed with a coat of Soul Red Metallic paint and accentuated with Brilliant Black detailing and bespoke badging. The interior comes to life when the roof is down, its Light Stone sports seats set in perfect contrast against the bold hues of the exterior.
Only 750 models will be released in the UK, available in Mazda showrooms from August this year. But precedent suggests that there are still more exciting developments to come from Mazda. Visitors to the Festival’s MX-5 specific stand also took in the 10th and 20th Anniversary editions, plus the California, Le Mans, Sport Black and Sport Graphite special editions, which mark the many years Mazda has been making automotive history.
“We can think of no better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our evergreen Mazda MX-5 than with an unveiling in its honour at the Goodwood Festival of Speed,” said Mazda UK’s managing director, Jeremy Thomson. “The Mazda MX-5 was created for precisely the sort of motoring enthusiasts who throng to the Festival in their thousands each year – people who just love cars, and just love to drive.”
Mazda’s latest SKYACTIV technology also took centre stage at the Festival, with new refinements further enhancing economy across the range and helping to redefine eco-conscious driving.
Johnsons Mazda will be thrilled to introduce the 25th Anniversary Limited Edition MX-5 to our showrooms in Oxford, Swindon and Solihull. Don’t hesitate to enquire about the new model or the next generation of Mazda vehicles to be fitted with SKYACTIV technology.
