From the 2015 model year onwards, every new Volkswagen available in the UK will have Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and DAB digital radio on the equipment list as standard.

ESC is already a familiar feature, as it’s available with the majority of models as either standard or an option at different trim levels. It will now automatically be included, to sense potentially hazardous driving situations and take precautions such as braking and reducing engine power.

Alongside the stability technology, DAB radio is a useful feature that brings thousands more radio stations and music choices along for the journey. It incorporates traditional FM radio, and the majority are compatible with music players, smartphones and other Bluetooth-compatible devices. Volkswagen was one of the first to make DAB a standard feature by including it in all 2013 releases. It was initially added to the Touareg, Polo and several others, followed by the Phaeton.

As the manufacturer has one of the largest and most diverse model ranges available in the UK, drivers continue to have plenty of choice. They can also be reassured by the fact that both systems are coming to all new cars, from the up! and Golf to the Passat, Touran, Jetta, Eos and so many more.
