Due to make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014, excitement builds for the release of the all-new ŠKODA Octavia Scout. Robust and versatile, with an intelligent all-wheel drive system, spacious practicality and efficient power, the stylish Scout is built for exploration.
Dr Frank Welsch, ŠKODA’s Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development, describes the new Scout as a “smart off-roader” adding that it “sets new standards in the crossover-vehicle segment.”
The new Scout takes influence from the existing Octavia whilst asserting a bold new off-road ambition. The chassis is set 33mm higher than the current estate, giving improved ground clearance and allowing the Scout to tackle more challenging road surfaces. New matt black protective mouldings around the door sills, wheel arches and side structure are present and strong, stylish 17-inch alloys are offered as standard. Prominent front and rear bumpers with silver off-road attachments highlight the purposeful roaming intention of the vehicle. Focussed fog lights offer keen visibility and wide air vents mean the Scout always keeps its cool.
New ŠKODA Octavia Scout has a refreshed design
The refreshed design enables the brand-new Scout to tackle tougher, steeper ground with revised approach and departure angles. The car also benefits from boosted climbing power and stronger traction of up to two tonnes. At the heart of this inquisitive adventurer is a powerful and efficient engine range. The new Scout comes with a choice of two diesel engines and one petrol unit. The economy of the Scout is superior to that of its predecessor, with an impressive 20 percent fuel saving.
The team at Johnsons are looking forward to the unveiling of this fantastic new vehicle at the Geneva Motor Show later this month. Keep up-to-date with the latest ŠKODA Octavia Scout news online.
