Every now and then a new car comes along which truly has the wow factor. The Giulia Quadrifoglio is one such car. Elegant, sophisticated and sporty all at the same time, it is guaranteed to turn heads. The distinctive grille and stylised lights at the front complement the car’s sleek profile, while at the rear the quad exhausts are a reminder of the Quadrifoglio’s performance focus.
Alfa Romeo joined forces with Ferrari to develop the design of the chassis and engine. The Quadifoglio’s 500bhp power output is delivered to the rear wheels from the aluminium 2.9-litre bi-turbo V6 engine. The car accelerates from 0-60mph in less than 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 191mph. Materials used in the construction of the car are as lightweight as possible, including aluminium doors and carbon fibre for the roof, hood, spoiler and driveshaft. Carbon ceramic brakes can be selected as an add-on option.
Alfa Romeo is producing the manual transmission exclusively for right-hand drive markets, so the Quadrifoglio will only be available with automatic transmission in the UK. The DNA Prosystem gives the driver a choice of four drive modes: Advanced Efficiency for optimal energy saving, Natural, Dynamic and Race. In Race mode ESP is disabled to deliver an exceptionally exciting driving experience.
The Quadrifoglio’s interior oozes quality and stylish Italian design. Deep seats are upholstered in plush fabric with leather trims and red highlight stitching. Familiar Alfa Romeo features include the hooded dials on the instrument panel. The car’s 8.8-inch infotainment system is controlled via a simple dial rather than a touchscreen interface, and music envelops you with the 12-speaker surround-sound system.
The release of the Quadrifoglio in the UK is scheduled for the autumn 2016, when it will be available with an estimated price tag of around £58,000.
